Justin Bieber and Bob Dylan’s musical collections aren’t usually uttered in the same breath.

But this week, Bieber, one of the 21st century’s biggest pop stars, followed Dylan, a transformational songwriter and Nobel Prize winner, in selling off his song catalogue rights for a reported $280 million.
